  • It’s so interesting how different plants cause issues for different people. I really like monsteras of all kinds but can’t maintain a peace lily to save my life.

    I cut back my adansoniis regularly and usually propagate the cuttings with leaves in water and the bare sticks in perlite.
    I change the water weekly and rinse the roots whenever I do to keep them from getting slimy. Perlite I spray almost daily, or cover it to trap moisture if I’m not able to tend to it regularly. Cuttings can rot if left covered, but sometimes I get to discover a jungle in a forgotten propagation box after a few months.

    After I can see decent roots, I pot the cuttings up and keep the soil lightly damp for a week or two until they acclimate.
    I haven’t noticed much difference when propagating variegated adansonii, but some of the mints are slower to regrow.
