I got sent home for the day because I responded to the wrong email. I clicked on the wrong email and wrote a response that didn’t make any sense.

From home, I sent one last email to work saying I wouldn’t be returning to work. That was the last thing I said them. That really pissed them off, they tried so hard to get me to come back in for an “exit interview”, which is just what they use to cover their ass. They even withheld a bonus check. By law, they can’t withhold your last paycheck owed, though.

Call people a “resource” is so on the nose. We’re just another input on their spreadsheet. Something to use and exploit to generate profit for them.

I’m surprised more people don’t point this out.

Hopefully, people will start recording this and posting it.

I’m glad I vote on paper here, but it’s still read by a black box scanning machine so I have no idea what happens in there. But, I’d have no idea what happens anywhere after I turn in my ballot.

We’ll need to depend on the state election officials to hold the line, and call for a new election if the they find the machines are compromised.

In the future the poor will only have access to garbage AI which will end up killing many people through unreported mistakes, while the rich will still be using human doctors. The same way that the rich send their kids to private schools that teach the traditional way, while the poor are left with the mess we have now.

Also, the idea that “no one thought of this” is just ludicrous.

I predict it gets canceled.

I suppose if the AI bubble pops, and memory and CPU prices crash, then maybe it will happen. But, that’s going to be very hard on the entire economy, so maybe it will be canceled for that reason, instead.

I’d say that Photoshop UI is more streamlined than GIMPs in several ways. In how it handles selections and layers and filter application, etc. And, it’s not just familiarity. GIMP is clunky.

Whereas Blender compared to Rhino, or Maya, or Sketchup, or Solidworks--there is no one way to do 3D that works better than another. Moving from one to the other, you can only take the basic concepts of a mesh between them, how they get there is all over the map.

Blender is four years older than GIMP. Blender is lightyears ahead of GIMP.

It’s not the name holding them back. As everyone else in here is saying, it’s the UI quirks.

If GIMP would just eat the complaints of their small, dedicated users, and make the UI more like Photoshop, they’d grow their userbase much faster.

Maybe, that’s why they don’t do it?
