I mean, while she absolutely does not look great, this is also the expected condition for a ship that’s been at sea for 200+ days without even a port call. Saltwater is hell on metal, and paint can only do so much for so long.

I would not be surprised if Russia instigated the mutiny to drive reliance on their mercenaries

I mean, 2 of the 3 pictures that show trays show the same trays. The rest are all takeout containers, which are the kind of consumable that makes sense to be just whatever Supply can requisition. And I’m more likely to believe different tray styles per class, I.e. submarines might have a more efficient (and therefore costlier) design for more cramped quarters that a carrier doesn’t necessarily need.

technology may evolve to the point where it becomes impossible to enforce actual child pornography laws because the Government cannot prove that certain pornographic images are of real children.
That right there seems like a great reason to ban ai-geneated CSAM, because that shit is never okay no matter what.

I completely agree. I’m just saying the insidious follow on effects to conning voters (while more serious and dangerous) are less tangible to average Americans than knowing whether to avoid meat or not, from where, and what the consequences of getting it wrong are. I’m slightly more concerned over whether my lasagna for dinner tonight is going to put me in the hospital than the GOP continuing to lie to the American people. The real answer is the 24hr media cycle absolutely has time to cover both topics in depth, and they should be doing so. The role of the media is to help hold those in power accountable, and we’re seeing a historic failure of that right now.

While I absolutely agree we deserve the truth about McConnel, didease-ridden mystery meat is far more likely to have an immediate impact on the lives of everyday Americans

I was driving home from the dealership after buying my last car, and the second I felt the wheel jerk out of my hands to take a corner on the highway differently than I typically do (I still stay in the lane, ofc), that shit got turned off and will never be reenabled. One of the most dangerous things is the car doing something unexpected while someone is driving and they try to correct/overcorrect for it out of shock/surprise and cause a crash.

Have lived in WA state. It’s super nice and convenient. They send a pamphlet with all the candidates names and BLUFs a few weeks ahead of time, and then a ballot shows up in my mailbox. I do more research on the candidates, fill it out and either drop it off at one of the many drop boxes around town, or put it back in the mail. Honestly it keeps me more involved in local elections, because I can’t really say I’d be remembering/prioritizing going to vote in person for the local races not in main election season.

Maybe not, but I think we can do better than this unapologetic Kremlin suck up.

Remind me, what does the R in BRICS stand for? What world could we possibly be in that this is within 100 miles of being an unbiased source? Pure Russian propaganda and lies, plain and simple, and barely even worth the effort to refute.

So the two systems are completely different. Classic steam cats use the steam generated by the propulsion plant to pressurize the catapults and propel planes off the carrier. EMALS uses the steam generated by the propulsion plant to generate electricity to launch planes similar to a railgun (as I understand it; might be wrong but the core concept is there). You can’t really have both, and retrofitting is costly and expensive, because now you need to be able to transport the steam to the right place, be able to contain the steam, etc. and that is not to mention any issues with whether or not the propulsion plant can produce the steam required to operate the cats. I have a hunch electricity generation is more efficient from a steam use perspective than steam cats.

This is firmly “fight everywhere” territory, which is what the DNC has been doing
Especially against the progressives in their own party. If they wanted to lead the progress, they should have gotten behind supporting the Democratic Socialist candidates.

At this point, if you are a Republican, you support pedophillia. Full stop, end of story.

Blatant whitewashing by trying to claim its just “rogue officers”. They’re using the tech as intended. The tech needs to be shitcanned immediately
I swapped to Qwant over the summer and have had no complaints at all! Their ai-overview is very easy to turn off (and it stays off permanently, afaik) and the results are pretty comprehensive!

Worth noting this is the reservation queue, which is the folks who got randomly assigned a number on launch day. Everyone who got put on the wait-list on launch day, in addition to those who jumped on since, will be waiting until 2027 (based on this announcement). Some folks may get moved onto the reservation list of someone doesn’t claim their reservation, and different regions fulfillment are moving at different speeds, but that’s the gist of the announcement.

I had a Surface Pro all through college, and used it for note taking in all my classes (pen on screen), which was fantastic. Haven’t really used the touchscreen function since though, and it’s been quite a few years.
Cost is a reasonable concern. How about we pass universal healthcare so this isn’t a fucking problem to being with???
Man screw Milei. The inahbitants voted nearly unanimously to remain part of Britain. Argentina can fuck right off.
