Horchata is legitimately that good. I’ve never had it bottled, but it’s relatively cheap and easy to make. If I had the fridge space I’d have two jugs going at all times.

If I caught a fish that fit exactly in the weird bricks on the sidewalk I’d brag about it too!

(Or moms what do your kids call you?)4·4 days agoYeah, I’ve got mine in my phone as “Don’t answer”, but she changes numbers a lot and borrows phones so I still fall for it sometimes if I’m expecting an important call and have to answer unknown numbers.

So every person who takes public transit equates to more than one person off the road, for those still driving. Which is just to say these people should be extra grateful instead of constantly defunding it.

Corporate data, by design, needs to be accessed by many people inside and outside the company. So they are adding another door for each person, department, or API that needs access. Even if the wall is higher and stronger, it’s still full of doors to try.
adhocfungus@midwest.socialto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Might be time to find another job58·8 days agoAt one of my previous jobs it was the head of HR stealing people’s food. Every time somebody complained he’d put up a sign and start “investigating”, but nothing ever came of it despite having cameras pointed at the fridge. Eventually someone got tired of it, put up their own camera, and caught the head of HR on camera a couple times. Apparently the president of the company didn’t care and brushed it off. I only found out because the guy with evidence blanket emailed the videos to the whole company. Of course he got written up for doing that.

adhocfungus@midwest.socialto A Boring Dystopia@lemmy.world•The bigger story about that Norwegian tourist4·9 days agoI feel bad, because it is horrific and deeply concerning, but I lose it every time I see that picture in relation to this story. Something about the absurdity is absolutely perfect. I hope that tourist really did smile through the tears after seeing it again.

That pointing is amazing. I need a template of this.

adhocfungus@midwest.socialto Fuck AI@lemmy.world•Has anyone's job been asking them to utilize LLM's?1·16 days agoI wouldn’t be so opposed to it if this was the case with Copilot, but at my job it never “fails”. It never says, “I don’t have enough data on that,” or, “You should contact an appropriate resource.” It always has an answer that is very confidently portrayed.
Now I’m flooded with tickets from users saying, “I followed Copilot’s instructions and this still didn’t work,” with screenshots of Copilot where they asked it how to do something that is impossible with our software. Then I have to argue with them about it because they believe the LLM over IT. Or users asking for permission to see a button/link that doesn’t exist because the last 50% of the steps are pure hallucinations.
You’d better hope that art is good enough to pay for your prison rent or you’ll be in debt for the rest of your life. Especially given how tough it is to get a traditional job afterwards.
Mary’s Test Kitchen I’m not vegan, but I like the scientific approach she takes to testing recipes.
