I love WhoBird. I especially like that it can record each bird’s song. When I’m sitting out in the yard, there are so many singing at once, playing back their songs with an ID helps a lot to identify the ones I can’t see.

They fly so fast. Like they never expect anything to be in front on them. They almost fly right into me sometimes, out in the yard.

Where I live, the local government is all at-large, so no one runs as a member of any party, but you can separate everyone into two groups of “people who want the town to provide basic services”, like parks and libraries, and “people who want to keep property taxes as low as possible” by not spending money on any services.

I found a very similar one, also in Germany, many years ago. I figured mine was a cow tooth, although I’m not sure how old it was. Most people no longer kept cows in that town at the time that I lived there.

Near me, city council positions are all at-large, and political affiliations, if any, aren’t mentioned anywhere, not in promotional materials or on campaign websites.

It would be more of a surprise than the other way around.

I would say in the 80s, we were taught computer skills as a foundation for using computers to learn more general skills.

At one time, you learned things like what all the parts of a computer are, and what each does.

I’d say both sets of skills are still important.

That seems so insecure. I wish governments cared more about the effects of data theft on individuals.

I just chill when I drive. If there’s a speed minimum, I obey it, but otherwise I’m just out there to relax and have a good time. I don’t even look at people’s faces when they pass. I’m not doing anything wrong. If they’re mad, they need to get over it. (My bf hates driving with me.)

I don’t remember ever being fingerprinted to get ID. Maybe when I got a passport as a kid, but never for a driver’s license.
