I don’t think I personally would have removed this (I was thinking about it before the explanation was posted but decided against it after it was).
But I think the other mod who did had a point. Before removal that comment had -21 votes so it’s clear most people did not get or approve of the joke either.
While I don’t think it’s xenophobic, I do think it might encurage harmfull behavior (i.e. some edgy kid actually doing what the comment suggested). Combined with the poor reception of the joke I think the removal was justified. And even if it wasn’t it’s not nice to call the removing mod a bastard.
