I’m a bit confused, because this article states:

Political consultant Tracie Burke and former Housing Authority of New Orleans Chief of Staff Jabarie Walker are the other two declared Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate.

However this Louisiana Illuminator article from Feb 12th article stated

Democrat Jamie Davis of Ferriday signed up Wednesday.

If no other Democrat signs up to run, Davis, a farmer and member of the Democratic State Central Committee, will automatically make it into the November general election.

But then this Nola.com article from Feb 14th says

Three Democrats signed up this week to run in a separate closed party primary. They include Nick Albares, who is from New Orleans and was a policy adviser for Gov. John Bel Edwards; Gary Crockett who owns an aerospace defense business and is from New Orleans; and Jamie Davis, a farmer from northeast Louisiana.

So it’s a fact that Davis is running, and was the first Democrat to state he would be running back in December, but it’s unclear who he’s running against.

Burke and Walker? or did they back out and Albares and Crockett threw their hat in at the last min?

Hopefully gets cleared up and this just a case of miscommunication/misunderstanding and not the beginnings of Louisiana shenanigans/fuckery lasting a little under 3 months leading up to the Democratic primary on May 16th followed by ~6 more months of wacky hijinks until the final election for U.S. Senate on Nov. 3.
