The War On Drugs is mostly a racist political policy from Nixon to prevent minorities and hippies voting.
Alcohol is hard to control and too closely tied to many social occasions.
Both are completely legal in my country. Funny thing is I do neither.

I remember my worst night with alcohol, i could barely WALK my bycicle home. Remember thinking “how can someone get behind a 1 ton vechile in THIS state”.

Well, also because prohibition was an abject failure.
One could easily argue that the prohibition of drugs has been an object failure as well, there’s just been $$$$ in keeping it illegal (along with racist reasons). Thankfully some states are seeing the $$$ of regulation, but the party of
smalloverreaching government doesn’t like that and fights it tooth and nail in a lot of places. Wonder why?
