Hello!
Tried my luck with the Pacman nebula, NGC281.
I managed to get about 2,5 hours worth of 1 minute subs and a handful of calibration frames before my batteries died.
As is to be expected with a regular Sony A6000 and a cheap 500mm telephoto lens, most of the signal got cut off and there’s lots of noise, so I had to push this one pretty aggressively.
I’m mostly happy with the result, but a modified/astro camera seems like the way to go from now on.

Thank you! That was shot from a Bortle 3 beach in the south of Crete, Greece.
The 0 elevation and proximity to the sea meant more humidity than usual, but you could see the Andromeda with your naked eye, so pretty amazing overall. Well worth the 2 hour drive and camp-out!
Motorized mount?
Indeed! Star Adventurer GTi on which I mounted my 500mm f6.3 lens (stopped down to f8, auful purple halos otherwise), on which I mounted my a6000. Almost 3 hours worth of 60 second shots (I had a cheap intervalometer plugged in), ISO 1600.
