I am not sure this is against memes in general. They criticized unmoderated messes. I am not sure this meme falls under the category.
That being said I expect him to be deeply uncomfortable with memes as iirc he is uncomfortable with his level of fame and respect.
that doesn’t read at all like he hates being memed. i mean he gets memed in his own show. in an episode of lateral his guests (who are very frequent collaborators so they may be friends at this point) joined the call wearing red tshirts.
