“That’s too bad, because you and I are going to have a long talk about politics after we make it out of the water. Then we’re going to follow that up with a delightful chat about the value of critical thinking and a good education.”
There’s a Swedish children’s book that I wish would get translated into English. It’s about a little girl born and raised in a cult, and it depicts the actual harm caused to the children, and also her journey of questioning authority and evaluating the trustworthiness of information. I think a lot of Swedish children’s literature is way darker than what I find in English, but they always have amazing lessons and are very empowering to balance it out.
I’m Danish, so I suspect our children’s media isn’t so dissimilar in that respect. As an aside, I find it hilarious that Wikipedia lists it as an ‘adult’ movie.
What’s the title of it, if I might ask?
The man, named Gunnar (Justin in the UK dub, Dick Balsac in the US dub)
Hahahaha what the fuck America.
You’re terrible at riffing. You’re supposed to say something that builds on the joke, not something that kills all the humour in it.
You, on the other hand, are great at living up to your username.
Keep it up, guy, and I’m going to follow you around explaining all your jokes.
I wasn’t the one explaining the joke. I’m just the one commenting on your tendency towards being unnecessarily abrasive 🤷
“Good thing we haven’t turned into crabs yet, or we’d never make it out of this bucket.”
I also love how they are frogs and the change in environment could hypothetically change their gender in this process.
