There’s a reason Trump kept referring to his investigations as a witch hunt, because that’s exactly what the Republicans did with Clinton, and to this day they still keep trying to equate a personal affair with treason as much as possible so idiots won’t actually think about how fucking ridiculous that comparison actually is.

For lying about a blowjob that wasn’t anybody else’s business in the first place. Such a terrible crime.

The average user in today’s world doesn’t need that knowledge.

That’s just factually not true for anyone that works in a medium to large company. Folder structures and network drives are how all company data is handled. The only people at any of our business locations that don’t need to know how that works are the environmental services and food and beverage employees. The rest of the employees absolutely use basic knowledge like that every single day. And not needing that definitely doesn’t apply to any IT adjacent profession, which have expanded dramatically since I was in school.

I’d argue the iPad is the bigger offender personally. They’re blaming Chromebooks because that’s often what schools provided, but the same exact timing existed before with iMacs in classrooms all through the 90s and early 00s for millennials despite Windows being by far the more common real world OS they would need to know in the workplace.

But when it comes to portable devices the iPhone and iPad are king, that’s what young people want and often what they’re given. And those operate nearly exactly the same as a Chromebook. Toss everything into a cloud bucket, no user-facing folder structures to learn, everything locked down with limited access and customization. A take it or leave it approach to user interaction.

And at the same time large sections of them are as tech illiterate as the boomers. There is a huge divide between the ones hacking everything and those that have only ever used an iPad or similar cloud-based devices and don’t understand how even basics like folder structures works. And they sit right next to each other at school day after day in the same general classes.

The crazy part about this is we have no explanation for why they were using a modified version of Signal that allows for the type of message backup needed for archival purposes if they weren’t doing that. They might as well just have installed the regular version of the app. The only explanation that seems to fit is to purposefully create an unmonitored security vulnerability by having that access available.

That’s because ICE are cowards. Wouldn’t be surprised if they’re purposefully leaving areas under direct gang control alone.

The simple solution, and thus the one that won’t even be considered, is to tax the rich and fund the IRS to actually enforce those cases instead of low hanging fruit. Reinstituting the 90% top tax bracket with no exceptions and it fills a lot of that gap immediately.

And there’s the grift. Because that cannot happen. It’s a blank check for the corrupt.

I’m 6’4" as well and I fit in just about everything that’s not clearly a compact car. I fit fairly well in Honda and Toyota sedans, and drove a Civic until 2018, when I bought a Tesla Model 3. That was okay, I fit but it’s low, too low for my tall legs really getting in and out Traded that in recently and got a Polestar 3, which is a larger SUV.

Big work vehicles aren’t the issue, as long as they’re used for that purpose, it’s the pavement princesses that are the problem. The ones that rarely or possibly even have never seen a day or work. They’re all over the place.

There are a lot of owners of these pickups that use them as their primary vehicle and grocery getter. Then they try to justify needing the truck because of the two days a year they actually use the bed to bring something back from Home Depot or towing a trailer. Both of which have daily alternatives available either through a rental company or from the store itself.

Remember that a “totaled” vehicle doesn’t mean it can’t be used, or even that it is heavily damaged just that insurance has decided that the specific repairs needed would cost more than just paying out the current value.

They don’t care if you get your vehicle fixed or replaced, insurance only cares about paying as little as possible using every loophole as possible.

That’s what 60+ years of fascism-directed conservative politics distributed by the likes of Fox News, systematic defunding of public education, and an almost complete halt in wage increases so 90% of the population no longer has any discretionary income and is essentially forced to work paycheck to paycheck has given us. It’s working exactly as intended.
