wow I’m so fkin jealous. If back then I had unlimited money, 3d printer, and unrestricted access to pc & internet, I would’ve done somthing similar to this. at 11 I literally made my own laptop & phone out of cardboard and bring it to the school to made my teacher think I brought electronics to school (which kids aren’t supposed to have phones back then). Printed windows 7 desktop to make it more real.

Even if I have that previlige then 10 years later my years are only depression as it is now, it would’ve been better because at least I have real thriving childhood.

Though the external situation from me isn’t helpful anymore. Even if there are thousands of cheap electronic pieces from china, importing to my country is very restrictive & very expensive due to high import duty tax (not US but similar importing issue). I can’t even replace my laptop’s dead fan due to high cost and the possibility of it getting confiscated by customs.

I’m so salty looking at a kid being a high-achiever than I am now, it’s silly. Good for them 🙏

Generational labels are invented and maintained by marketing consultants so that they can sell demographic advertising services to corporations.

Some people are tech savvy at a young age. And smart. Never discount the kids.

I am terrified of that soldering job, but I can’t do much better haaaa.

Nice to see something that promotes the idea that the younger generations aren’t completely oblivious to how tech works. Sometimes I tire a little bit of the meme that only millennials grew up in the right place right time to actually have to learn how to use a computer.

This kid is going places, he’s got a great sense of humor, too. He got a chuckle out of me when he called his device “officially more handsome than me.”

Also, hilarious that his classmates called it trash and tried to get it banned so he couldn’t use it. But man does that track for kids his age.
