BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Thursday night Sullivan County Commission work session that was called to discuss the use of Flock cameras in Sullivan County turned heated after a county commissioner called for the public hanging of Flock Safety’s CEO, Garrett Langley.

What started as a civil discussion turned heated following those comments made by Commissioner Joe Carr.

“I believe that Flock right now is one of the most hated companies in America,” Carr stated during the meeting. “They are one of the most corrupt companies in America. And, quite frankly, sir, I don’t think we can make America great again without hanging your CEO publicly for treason.”

I am kind of stunned that he said the above bolded quote, in person, to the face of a Flock representative.

Cowabunga it is then.

I live around Blountville. This doesn’t surprise me a bit. When they first put up a speed camera on the highway someone shot it. They fixed the camera and it was shot again.

You should probably repost this on an instance where I can publicly agree with the sentiment.

Of course only a Republican, who BROUGHT FLOCK TO POWER, would be so crass and hypocritical.

I remember first hearing about the rumblings of privacy issues with Flock - but could someone summarize or point to a good summary as to the why?

There are a metric shit-ton of companies spying on and tracking everyone and reselling that data, etc. Why is Flock in the crosshairs right now?

You know the database and AI ‘enhanced’, Minority Report style surveillance systems Palantir lets Israel use, to pinpoint track and murder Palestinians?

Flock is that, for the rest of us.

      Gaza was the beta test.

You probably can’t in Tennessee without legal changes or a convoluted set of court cases.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital_punishment_in_Tennessee

The method of execution is lethal injection, but a prisoner condemned before January 1, 1999, may choose to be electrocuted instead. Electrocution is also provided if lethal injection is found to be unconstitutional or if any drug necessary to carry it out is unavailable. If electrocution is found to be unconstitutional, state statutes then provide the use of “any constitutional method of execution”.[2]

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanging_in_the_United_States

Currently, only New Hampshire has a law specifying hanging as an available secondary method of execution, now only applicable to one person, who was sentenced to capital punishment by the state prior to its repeal in 2019.[3]

      Nah.

Personally I say we bring back drawing and quartering.

      Publically, of course.

What, does it being public make it worse somehow?

Who cares about your public reputation, you’d be dead afterwards.

          Combine with the brazen bull.

Boil em alive, in oil, in the bull.

A sacrifice to the ‘line go up’ god.

We can’t be sure they got the right guy unless we see them do it in public. Otherwise they could just put up an AI video and say they did it, or hang an innocent mailroom guy and claim it was him.
