Americans: ‘Military Time’
The rest of the world: ‘Time’
It’s not nearly that clean of a split. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Date_and_time_representation_by_country
The split is Americans calling it military time when it’s just a 24 hour clock
“Military time” is technically different from other 24 hour notation, but for a lot of Americans the military was the first (or only) situation they used it in so the connotation makes sense.
Guys, the joke is he only dates women until they turn 24. That’s the joke.
And then dates a new born apparently

I never understood AMs and PMs. We start at 12, count upwards to 11, and do that twice? No fuck that, I just use a 24-hour clock.
What’s worse is that you get 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm… Who the fuck thought that was a good idea?
Ante meridiem and post meridiem. Before and after noon. (Noon being true noon, when the sun is at it’s highest point) Everything after 12:00 exactly is after noon and it makes more sense to change the notation there than 12:01.
why would post malone do this to us
We really should count up to meridian and then back down.
12 should be 0, 0:00 is noon and 0:01 the minute after.
1:23 is 1•60+23 minutes after noon or midnight.
Without doing any further research, I bet it’s a holdover from using Roman numerals (which has no 0) on clock faces.
I recall 0 had a fear around it, in the same way as negative numbers and complex numbers. People didn’t consider it real and refused to use it.
Zero as a placeholder for arabic numbers was used long before people became comfortable with “a number without digits”; zero was just a placeholder, not a digit.
I tried finding when zero as a number became used, but found that really hard since everyone instead talks about the digit/placeholder.
Best I found is number.wiki which states India started using it as a number around 600. The introduction and popularization in europe around 12-1600 had it introduced as purely a placeholder though. “The nine Indian figures are: 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1. With these nine figures, and with the sign 0 … any number may be written”
This is why it’s specifically AFTER 12:00:00am it changes room at 12:00:01.
That doesn’t make it any better. In fact, it makes it worse, as you now got an am/pm shift in the middle of an hour. Compare this to the 24 hour time: it starts at midnight (00:00:00), and grows predictably up to 23:59:59.
Changes… room?
yeah… wait, your room doesn’t change every day?
I think my room changes whenever my feets do the thing, there’s like ten rooms in this place and billions more outside.
are you saying am/pm change happens one second after 12? because no, they happen at the instant of 12.
More complex (so more cost), harder to read at a glance, you’d want to start at the bottom so that midday is at the top to align with the sun, absolutely minimal difference vs 12h clocks. This assumes a physical clock (face), not digital, but by the time (heh) digital came around it’s not like anybody is going to change anything.
Now you understand am/pm.
Cool. Why is 10+5=3?
I hate this shit.
We just went over this but okay
cuz da Vinci was based12

only cool people can cout to 210 on their fingers.
I can count to any number on one hand because I know how how to count in ASL 😎
We call ‘em “Ol’ RAM Hands” for all those 1024 bits per byte!
How many “baud” is that, you Gen Z fuckers? Lmao
we’re talking about masturbation in case you missed it
ugh… of course you are
back in my day, we had sex with other people! IT WAS AWESOME
Edit: you kids just need to learn that getting close— it’s just the beginning…
I don’t know whether that was on purpose, but I don’t know many people that want to
cout << 0b10000000000;.Just be careful with 4, 128, and especially both (132)
Ok that’s freaking me out because I count form the inside joint out, so your 3 is where 1 should be etc.
While the AM/PM system is perfect for the American ruling class.
Deci-bino quaternal?
