It is at this point, 7 comments deep, arguing over whether or not this is a ‘left’ or ‘right’ stance or otherwise how to classify it, that I am going to suggest that I have successfully produced an opinion which does not easily fit on the traditional left-right spectrum.

Nah bro, while radical this is solidly left

People really actually should learn how to make bugs into more widespread, varied, and tasty cuisine.

Advocating for cultural updates to traditional hang-ups regarding disgust over ultimately harmless activities.

Meat is about to get much, much more expensive.

Recognition of real-world material conditions and their affects on workers.

Addendum: Ask the vegans about their most cost effective, most sustainable protein sources.

      Not insulting vegans.

For the record I agree with you, all your points as to why this is ‘left’… but I would mostly just call this practical, pragmatic, realistic, something like that.

Yes, that does mesh nicely with ‘material conditions’ and all that, but I still find it amusing that this has generated a bit of a classification argument, ahaha!

EDiT: sorry i kind of stealth edited tjis for clarity, fucked up writst makes typing fun

Ladies and gentlemen, we got 'im.

I could realistically see some movement towards this, I mostly said it’s radical because of the context of this thread in which other people are posting some fairly lukewarm takes.

Where is… what axis on the spectrum is ‘radical’?

Do you mean… aiming at the root cause of the issue?

            Do you mean ‘extreme’?

But thats just uh, abstract questions, you did say you called it radical because basically most of the the other opinions here were rather uncontroversial.

Still though… politics is as much a lense in the eye of the beholder as it is a set of self assigned labels.

There are toooons of say right wingers who see themselves as centrists and communism = fascism and all that.

But anyway, yeah, lets bring on the ants and crickets pizza from cyberpunk 77 or whatever lol.

We broke through the 1.5C barrier and as far as I see it: adapt or die.
