Anytime you hear a republican complain about spending research money on some seemingly silly thing remember this research. A lot of research sounds weird and pointless from the outside, but you don’t know what it might build up to.

They also complain about researching perfectly normal-sounding stuff and then turn around and want to fund something that sounds fucking stupid, just because it aligns with their bigotry.

Uhh… pretty sure this is like the 10,000th cure taken from nature? Star Trek was immitating life for that plot… Why are people so god damn ignorant to reality?

Yeah I don’t think the star trek writers are even trying to include the eventual inhumane ramp up of the miracle cure production either.

Some lab is probably chucking those lizards into a blender.

This isn’t even the first lizard based medicine. There have been several different ones. Notably GLP-1s.

China literally got a famine because they declared sparrows a pest! (well that’s not the only reason, but it was a reason).

I think it’s more sci-fi that there was this one guy who’s blood was tapped for decades to prevent miscarriages all over the world (blood type incompatibilities between universal donor mothers and the fetuses they carried).

And yet, I bet that a lot of morons would rather go “extreme Paleo” and gnaw on a lizard rather than getting a little injection.

Don’t judge me. I hate needles and if eating a lizard will tip the scales in my favor, it’s their own damned fault for being delicious, nutritious, and apparently immunicious. It’s a word. I just made it up, though.
