Tough luck, there, Bro. Now you’re going to have to feature $8 lattés and avocado toast, to draw all those woke Zoomers who don’t want to work anymore.
Buc U
Don’t forget Ohio, which also has a Bucees now, and immediately started going after existing beaver themed establishments
outrageous! a rich person tries to make more money, althought they are rich. and democrats probably wanted something totally outlandish like the companies paying for what they use, fixing damages they cause and livable wages for the workers. no wonder socialism is barreling through the elections, people vote, not money.

Thank god those people can’t tell colors.
Will he stand by his outdated principles? Tune in tomorrow on “As The Colour Turns”.
There was a great bit about Buc-ee’s scummy legal practices on Last Week Tonight a few months ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3oB-1qAj-Q&t=1908
As a non-american that episode was the first time I heard about Buc-ee’s. Great watch. Love John Oliver.
Not even sure what it is…will anyone actually miss it?
They’re most-known for their massive gas stations (like 100+ pumps and 75,000 square-foot store) with overpriced food and gift shop. Some of their older, smaller stations South of Houston are more typical gas stations with 8-10 pumps, but they’re known for the flagship stores. They also famously prohibit 18-wheelers.
I’ll give them credit for what they do well. Their restrooms are generally spotless. They’ll have multiple people who’s entire shift is spent keeping the restrooms stocked and clean. And they pay better than most gas stations, though my understanding is that it’s still a shitty place to work.
And that’s about it on the good. There’s a CVS-receipt list of ways they’re shitty.
What I don’t understand is their gas pricing. They’re usually the cheapest gas around by a significant margin, which itself makes sense if they’re trying to use cheap gas to get people to go inside and buy a 10 dollar sandwich. But they don’t typically post their gas prices. Their 100-foot sign is just their logo, and you won’t see the gas prices until you get to the pump. The price alone won’t get people to the store. They could charge more than other places and most people wouldn’t notice.
They also famously prohibit 18-wheelers.
the fuck? what kind of shitty gas station bans their best customers?
It’s for the safety of all other traffic. Also clearly they don’t need trucker traffic, they’re doing just fine with their business model.
Oversized gas stations. That’s all. Not anything particularly interesting.
ohhh like wawa?
It’s funny you say that, I stopped at a buccee’s for the first time and found it underwhelming. Wawa, Sheetz, Royal Farms are all better because you can customize your food. The only thing buccee’s is is bigger.
Like 20 wawa gas stations put together, half of it is a gift shop, and it stinks like brisket.
Yes, I’m sure they will.
If you’re at a Buc-ee’s it means there isn’t shit to do within a half hour drive.
my job is across the street from Buc-ee’s and it just looks miserable to go there. Always a line of cars no matter the hour, and overcrowded inside the store. I would never go through that much effort to visit a overpriced gas station.
Texan here. Buccees is WILDLY overrated. Their food used to be really good but they’ve apparently cut costs on it and now are no better than any other fast food place. They’re just a glorified, gimicky gas station. Restrooms are always clean though.
They seem like the weird fixation people have here in the northeast about Wawa and Sheetz. People, they are just shitty convenience stores with gas pumps. Relax!
They are normal until you leave the area they cover and see just how bad other gas stations are. It’s pretty bad out there
Its funny to think of PA as being northeast. I guess so but in the norther easter, we don’t have anything but Cumbies, 7/11s, and Circle Ks and they’re shit.
Cumbies
I prefer Cum Farm, tyvm.
Weird hearing about Circle K though. Never heard of one for 12 years while living in MD, then saw them everywhere down in Florida. Don’t recall ever seeing a Circle K in states around MD either. 7/11 is pretty ubiquitous, however in FL they always had gas pumps and in MD it was just a corner store. It’s so weird how much it can vary from region to region, and sometimes even by bordering states.
Circle K bought a fairly large regional brand in my area and converted them to Circle K.
Circle Ks are dying and 7/11 almost did in the 90s and now it’s only a straggler in a few towns up here.
There are new replacements but they aren’t memorable enough to bother learning the names of.
Cumbies
UwU cumbie me daddy~
I mean it’s not New England but it’s definitely the north east, same with New York and New Jersey.
can’t support this enough. Once they got to the point where their brand was more important than their product, they stopped being good.
The thing is the bar for gas stations to be great is so low that when one puts in any amount of effort, everyone loves it. It seems every region has their favorites.
Everything around here is Casey’s. They have pretty good pizza actually.
Kwik Star/Trip is actually great, lots of cheap food made in house, including fresh microwave dinners.
Eh, that was just a distraction to keep people from talking about the ludicrous amount of child pornography his son had (and is currently on trial for)
At this point I think it’s safe to assume all republicans are protecting pedos or are pedos themselves.
He was also a big Abbott supporter and donor. I personally never, ever stop at Buc-ee’s because I try my best to vote with my dollars.
I got violently ill from their nuts on an 8 hour road trip. Then my wife got equally violently ill when she ate the nuts when we got home (I thought I just had a bug).
Their restrooms are fine, but I won’t go there for anything else.
most gas stations bathrooms are fine.
Insane take. You simply haven’t been to most gas stations bathrooms if you think this. I used to drive across north America semi-regularly for work and every region is equally bad at this
You have a very low threshold for insane. I’ve driven all over the country too. The gross ones are rare.
I’m a lady using the ladies room though, that might be why we’re not seeing eye to eye.
dude i’ve been a janitor. y’all refuse to sit down, even with a seat sheet, so y’all hover. don’t try to pretend your bathrooms are clean.
So tired of this only loser bullshit. I’ll block you.
I mean, maybe OP runs a bathroom cleaning service for gas station bathrooms.
Probably not, but maybe.
Eeeh, there’s some pretty shitty ones when you get out of cities/coasts.
Buccees has literally nothing special in that department.
Idk Bucees and QuikTrip are pretty good about being clean.
Wally’s is also really good.
Most is not accurate. I’ve been in some godawful, disgusting gas station bathrooms across the southern US. I would still choose that disgusting bathroom over Buc-ee’s
gas station food= severe if not dangerous food poisoning/parasites.
You realise that isn’t an issue in other developed countries?
Wait. What?!
The defense attorney said the cases involve “many thorny legal issues” and one question in particular: “May a homeowner install a camera in his home without telling housekeepers or guests, or does the guest have a greater legal right than the homeowner?”
How the hell is this a thorny legal issue? It should not be a question at all.
It’s one thing to have a doorbell camera or a security camera inside that films your front door and foyer or living room. It’s another thing entirely to have a hidden camera in the bathroom.
Yes, and even then it’s basic courtesy to warn your guests, and it should be illegal to not notify your tenants/homekeepers of the camera (at least in my country it is, and it’s illegal to install them in any living quarters - including the bathroom -)
its not illegal right now to hide cameras in other peoples living spaces, if you own the place? what?
Another thorny legal issue for republicans:
Do the “human rights” of black slaves trump the property rights of their owners? And how are you supposed to protect your economic rights other than by beating the shit out of them?
Do the “privacy rights” of guests and tenants trump the property rights of their landlords? And how are you supposed to protect your economic rights other than by recording their every move on your property?
It’s basically the same fucking question. And it’s such a thorny and contentious one finding a balance must be hard.
Because in a sane society, basic human rights clearly do not have precedence over any other rights, right?
they’ve left the material realm at this point
Alr remind me to never go to a bucees
OF course its a distraction, im not surprised.
He was doing blue states a favor by not expanding there.
Now that the new states are blue, maybe they can remove the infestation with some new public-serving regulations.
Don’t you know we are under Sharia law now? See you at Al Buqqi, brother
This got a chuckle out of me. Great way to start my day, thank you 😂
I’ll see you at Al Buqqi 🥂
They actually meant they won’t operate in states that don’t let them bully the shit outta small businesses for having an animal as a logo, even if it looks absolutely nothing like theirs.

I guess they gotta close a bunch of stores in Texas now.
They’re massively overrated anyway. Just a glorified gas station. Their food used to be top notch, but they have since cut costs and now they’re no better than any generic fast food place. Restrooms are kept clean. That’s all they have going for them.
Their food used to be top notch, but they have since cut costs and now they’re no better than any generic fast food place.
That’s such a shame. There’s nothing nice in this world anymore. The beaver is cute, but I assume it’s all made in China Walmart quality for double the price
